No social life but Web

Is that true in your case if you are also captured by net addict. A survey conducted over American adults shows that they can give up anything including friends for going online.

Surfing the net has become an obsession for many Americans with the majority of U.S. adults feeling they cannot go for a week without going online and one in three giving up friends and sex for the Web.

I came across this news over other feeds too but didn’t feel like discussing it until I saw this funny stuff posted by Oliver over Geek And Poke

I don’t think it can be the case with web-addicts, not even in US, leave India. The reason is that web is no different than real life. Here if you interact virtually, in real-life scenario, there is nothing different except the physical presence. We talk a lot online and same way, we can speak like that, socially. What is the problem in that.

I am a little doubtful about US scenario but at least Indians are far away from this effect especially when Internet penetration isn’t that considerable compared to its population. Still more than 30% of population isn’t online at all. So no more worries about the net-nuts cutting out from social life when still they have to visit to Government offices to file their returns and pay their utility bills. They have to walk out of their virtual lives!!
