At one of the work places I worked, I have witnessed classic case of under estimation by Business Development team which went horribly wrong and the whole setup was warned to be closed by customer. Re-estimations were done, the original estimate was found to be 9-10 times lower than actual but who to blame – customer or vendor? Doesn’t matter as long as you have lower levels to take the fall. Blame went to development team that they didn’t deliver on time. And there goes mother of all political fundamentals!
