If you want to turn OFF the Hibernate feature in Windows Vista which is enabled by default, you can do it by going to Command Prompt and running following command –

 

powercfg -h off

 

It can save lot of space on your Hard Disk especially when you are running out of it.

 

Vista doesn’t offer any GUI to play around with Hibernate feature. Therefore, Command Prompt appears to be the only way to do this.

 

To turn Hibernate feature ON, you can run following command by going back to Command Prompt –

 

powercfg -h on
