Blog Suspension Blues

Don’t you think that you should be told about the reason of suspension of your blog instead of just a small note when you loss your dear blog hosted over other’s web-server, specially when it is biggie like WordPress.com.

This blog was suspended with just as much small note as it can be making the author loose all the stuff which was collected over long period of time in…perhaps lots of of MBs.

Here is what the note went like –

This blog has been archived or suspended for a violation of our Terms of Service.

The blog was hosted over wordpress.com. It wasn’t the only incident but just sometime back, same blogger had talked about the suspension of other wordpress.com blog in similar way and they quote –

Blogs are suspended if they are found to be in breach of the TOS.

We do not contact you first to ask that content be modified or removed.

You cannot have that blog name back.

You cannot have the blog content back.

Really BIG LOSS. I would suggest to keep backup of your blog over some other place and better than that, host your blogs on your own servers or very trusted ones, if you are really really serious about your stuff collected over period of time involving great deal of hard-work.

In this case, I think, some warning should be sent to the blogger in advance before the blog is suspended. And then it should be checked if the warning has been taken on positive note. Only then, blog should be suspended on the basis of observation. It was really bad to see a wordpress.com blog getting suspended like this with no prior notice…huh.
