The last 32-bit OS

Microsoft is going to ship its last 32-bit Operating System and there will be no more 32-bit OS from Microsoft. The last OS will be Windows Server 2008.

Speaking at the WinHEC 2007 conference in Los Angeles, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates outlined the benefits of 64-bit computing, such as the amount of information that can be crunched in one go as a data set and advanced memory technology.

There will be only 64-bit Operating Systems from Microsoft after Windows Server 2008 beta of which has already been downloaded 100,000 times. I don’t think there is anything wrong in this move especially when whole world is moving towards 64-bit computing including those Hardware vendors.
