Yahoo censoring photos

Google has already been deleting videos over YouTube and now Yahoo! has also started censoring photos over Flickr. Thomas Hawk has written about Flickr removing photos of a user who looked for support and was upheld by hundred of thousands of people all around web including those over Flickr and Digg. She had raised her voice against a company stealing images shot by her and selling them for thousands of dollars, making easy money. Flickr deleted her specific photo page which got thousands of views as well as lot of comments with following reason –

“Flickr is not a venue for to you harass, abuse, impersonate, or intimidate others. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, we will send you a warning or
terminate your account.”

And now you will see following error message on that page –

In future, keep an eye on the websites which are most likely to be sold to big players in future…you might end up with losing your data that you collected over passage of time – a big challenge in front of Web 2.0 media sharing services.
