Google offers free book downloads

The most popular thing going in BWorld this time is that Google has started offering free downloads of books which aren’t protected by copyright laws. And these include books like Romeo and Juliet: A Tragedy, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn etc.

Till now, it sounds pretty much like Project Gutenberg. Even the search over Google Books resemble the one on Gutenberg.

The major difference is the format in which books are offered for download. The books available on PG are pretty much in unorganized and in inconsistent formats although I have been reading them for years by opening them in browser. But now, perhaps, I will like to switch to Google Books which is offering download in PDF format. All I will be waiting for this free DB to grow.
