Yester-night, I watched Shikhar at home – it is based on environment saving.
Although the story was good and really moralistic but the direction was quite low in quality. Enjoyed the dance of Shahid Kapoor and acting of Ajay Devgan. It seems that industry has found a permanent partner for Shahid – Amrita Rao. She has appeared with him in so many movies starting from Ishq Vishq Pyar Vyar, then Vah Life Ho To Aisi and now Shikhar.
Acting, Music and story of this movie was really good but it is not the one to be recommended to someone to watch.
Shahid is becoming a star, the way he is getting exposure!…on the very same lines of SRK.
Shikhar is the story of an ambitious young builder Gaurav Gupta, who’s more commonly known as GG (Ajay Devgan).
His has been a rags-to-riches story but GG wants more. His dream project is to build an entire city on the outskirts of Mumbai and for that, he needs agricultural land that actually belongs to the natives.
GG, along with a corrupt minister Patil (Manoj Joshi) manages to oust the natives from the village. His only stumbling block is an ashram in the vicinity run by Guruji (Javed Sheikh), who refuses to vacate and gets a stay order on the construction, thereby causing GG huge losses.
GG then decides to befriend Guruji’s son Jaidev (Shahid Kapoor) in order to achieve his mission. In course of time, GG introduces the innocent Jaidev to the world of vices and even succeeds in creating a rift between the father and son. But when Jaidev realises GG’s true intentions, he puts his act together again, standing up to the ideals and values of his father.
The subject is on the same lines as a Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman or a Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hain and therefore, the treatment could’ve been the differentiating factor.
I also saw the trailor of Fanaa – starring Aamir Khan and Kajol. Kajol seems to be blind in this movie. Directed by Yash Chopra and his son – Aditya Chopra. The best thing about Yash Raj banner that I like is that there is almost negligible Gun shots, fight or blood in his movies. The worst thing about his movies is that they are always about love and very un-realistic. Yes, music of their movies rock.
