Travelling techies warned- The Times of India: “PUNE: The death of Infoscion Vikram Poddar has prompted a large number of infotech companies in Pune to issue travel advisories to its employees, particularly those frequenting Mumbai during the weekend.”

While Infosys was the first (as always) to circulate an internal e-mail, issuing detailed instructions to its employees to follow safety procedures while travelling to Mumbai, others like Cybage Software, Cognizant and Wipro have followed suit, asking its employees against hitch-hiking.

Vikram Poddar was allegedly drugged to death last week. His body was found at Pen, in Raigad district, last Friday. A senior technical manager in a major IT company in Hinjewadi, told TOI, “One should see the crowd, particularly on Friday afternoon, near Wakad phata.
